Questions rather than answers.<br /><br />Which is why the sci-fi songs work - the mystery, and occasionally the awe and wonder (in Nerdlinger One), play on the fear and desire for the unknown.<br /><br />On the album 'I Can See a Boat ... It No Longer Floats' there are the songs of paranoia, pursuit, being the stranger/foreigner, desperation and confinement balancing the songs of nostalgia, memory and loss - there is little sense of contentment. <br /><br />The DGF lyrics that don't work as well are those where the listener doesn't have to piece it together, wher the listener is presented with a statement of fact rather than a rush of images, clues and mixed signals.<br /><br />Strangeness abounds, there should always be room for the weird, sci-fi as a hall of mirrors reflection of inner anxiety.<br /><br />keep it unreal.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
